Makan makan

I love youtiao (油條). In Malaysia, the Cantonese called the youtiao, Yaw-Char-gwai (油炸鬼 - translated : "deep fried ghost"). The Hokkien has a more politically correct name of "You-Char-Kuei" (油炸檜 - "Deep Fried Kuei"). For more information on this simple but popular and famous Chinese food, please HERE and HERE.

How does youtiao got the name of You-Char Kuei ? According to grand grand father story dating back many thousand years ago, an Imperial Palace Official ( similiar to the present day Cabinet Ministers ) by the name Qin Kuai (秦檜, Cantonese: Chun Kui) and his wife collaborated with the enemies to plot and frame a patriotic general Yue Fei (岳飛). As a mark of protest and cursing of Qin Kuei and his wife for their tracherous acts, peope in the Song Dynasty made two joining human-shaped doughs, symbolically represents Qin Kuai and his wife. The doughs are deep fried and eaten as an expression of hatred towards the tracherous couple.

Hmmm... we have been eating You-Char-Kuei for thousands of years ? It goes to show that the Chinese are unforgiving lot. So, a word of advice, don't ever double crossed a Chinese, you may end up being cursed and your ill deeds remembered for centuries to come.

Coming back to present day Malaysia, maybe unknowingly we also have some local dishes to remember the misdeeds of some Malaysians in Malaysia. No offense intended, but I am not very sure whether some of these dishes have any connotations. First thing that come to my mind are : (1) Chow Lah Lah - clams stir fried in spicy ingradients. I know there is a Pak Lah in Malaysia. (2) Sam Har Mee - A bowl of noodle and prawns in Boiling soup. I know we also have a Samy in Malaysia. (3) Kong Poh Kah Ting - Spicy Diced chicken cooked in sizzling hot clay pot. What a coincident that we also have a Ka Ting in Malaysia.

You know what, I love all these three dishes. And these dishes go very well with LINGAM chilly sauce.

For the time being, if you are in Penang, I think it is a political taboo to order "Sei Tai Ting Wong" ( Four type of legumes stir fried in hot wok). Uncle Lim Keng Yaik may not take it likely, because he may miscontrued it as an intention of disrespect to his Four Heavenly Kings in his Gerakan party. Come to think of it, Gerakan is the only political party in Malaysia that has a class of its own. They nicknamed their four senior party members as Heavenly Kings ! I wonder whether the DAP's rockets are going to be loaded with explosives when they land in Penang Island.

Oh yah, before I forget, Malaysians also have great respect for all the Kwai Loh ( generally speaking, the British whites ). As a mark of respect and due recognition to these Kwai Loh, we named two of our favorite fruits after them - Ang Mor Tan ( Nephelium lappaceum, also known as Rambutan ) and Ang Mor Durian ( Annona muricata, also known as Soursop). Wait, wait, wait... If I am not mistaken, we even named a monkey after them. It is called Ang Mor Kow ( Red Hairy Monkey). By the way, Malaysia used to be a colony of "Great" Britain. Some of us are still so fascinated with the hedonistic lifestyle of our former colonial master that, we feel so shiok to be acknowledged as Tuan ( Master ). For the last couple of years, it never failed to amaze me that there are so many unconciously incompetent people shouting "Ketuanan" this and "Ketuanan" that. What a bunch of infriority complex farting noisily seeking to be acknowledged as tuan-tuan, puan-puan, and pondan ! God saves the Queen !

I shake my head....... I guess it is about time now I go to the Sangha for refuge. Om Namo Amithaba Buddha......

Of Thaipusam and one man's angers......

Thaipusam cerebration is over. Lots of appreciative thanks to the Hindu activists for their persistence in seeking the administration to grant the day of Thaipusam as a public holiday. All of us have a much needed rest day yesterday.

Prior to the Thaipusam, I was told that, there are SMS going around asking Malaysians of Hindu faith to boycott the famous Batu Cave temple. This morning, the MSM have reported that there are more than 1 million people visited the temple, and the SMS campaign has failed to convince the Hindu devotee to boycott the Batu Cave temple. However, the blogsphere reported otherwise. The usual crowd at Batu Cave has declined substantially. Which is which ? Do we believe the MSM or the blogsphere ? But one thing is certain, the attendance of devotees at Batu Cave temple did dropped substantially. So the fact is, there are indeed many Hindu devotees decided to boycott the Batu Cave temple and instead go to other smaller Hindu temple to perform their annual Thaipusam rites.

Sad to note that, sacred temple and religious event such as Thaipusam, has been misused by politicians to launch political attacks against their opponents. God has nothing to do with infidels's political differences, don't drag God into it.

Most of the MSM are emphasizing that there are more than 1 million people visited Batu Cave temple. Really ? The MSM also provide extensive written coverage of the MIC president, Samy Vellu, and the Thaipusam event at Batu Cave temple. It does gave me an impression that, they are trying their level best to portray to the general pubic that Samy Vellu still has considerable and majority support from Malaysians of Hindu faiths.

Frankly, it is of no concern to me, whether Samy Vellu still has the majority support or not. I guess, as a politician, only MIC members and the voters in his constituency can decide his political fate during the general elections. Can we equate the number of Hindu devotees at Batu Cave to Samy Vellu's political popularity ? Are the claimed and unsubstantiated 1 million visitors to Batu Cave temple all Hindu devotees and supporters of MIC and Samy Vellu ? My God, these devotees are there to pay homage to Lord Murugan, not Samy Vellu ! Rightly, religion should never be used as a tool to seek endorsement of political survival.

However, I do find it very amusing to read some of the reported remarks made by Samy Vellu. These are some of the quotations of Samy Vellu from MSM :

“People who send such SMS are not clean; they are dirty fellows. They are nasty, with a low quality mind and no capacity...”
Nasty, low quality mind, and no capacity... these are words usually used by uneducated and arrogant pariahs. On this auspicious religious day, maybe it is worth the while we refrained from insulting fellow Malaysians with these kind of uncultured words.

“You make me laugh. Do you honestly think Indians are that stupid?”
Sir, Indians are not stupid! Laugh all you can. Mr Samy, they are not Indians, they are Malaysians. People with differing opinions are not stupid, only people who are incapable of accepting differing opinions are stupid. Didn't your father told you so ? And don't underestimate Malaysians. Please remember, the one who laughs last laughs best.

"God knows what is happening and what we have done and he will only help MIC and BN."
I don't know, maybe God did communicated to him that he will help MIC and BN. At the rate it is going, I do honestly believe MIC and BN need all the help they can get from God. Maybe, Malaysian politicians should refrained from referencing God or invoking God to justify their political relevancy. I don't know which God he is referring to. Hindu God, Christian God, Muslim Allah, or a Universal God ? Honestly, do you think God care what political party or political values one has ? I personally think it is abusively arrogant and immoral to associate God with biased statements to justify one's intolerance to others' freedom of speech and expression.

"These are nasty, low grade fellows. They do not have the capacity to do things that comply with law and order."
Mr Samy did said "We must know how to be ashamed. Those who know how to be ashamed will not use kuils." So, is it okay for him to use kuils to conduct political attacks on others ? Honestly, Mr Samy must do what he preached. His actions must be consistent with his words. He should have the political decency to refrain from using sacred temple and sacred religious event to hurl uncalled for remarks against his political opponents.

"Who can threaten us? If anybody threatens us, we can identify him fast. It takes only five hours to find his location. He can't run away from us. I'll hand him over to the police."
In the first place, who is threatening MIC and Samy Vellu ? Is differing in opinion constitutes a threat ? But anyway, it is good to know that our Mr Samy has that kind of super capability. I sincerely hope he can make good use of that capability to help the police to apprehend the murderer (s) of Datuk S. Krishnasamy and help to locate the missing five-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar. Or perhaps, offer his expertise to our Malaysian Police to help fight and reduce crimes.

It does sound like there is a political warfare between MIC and Hindraf seeking to win Hindu support in Malaysia. But so far, the war of words look quite loop sided with only MIC getting the coverage from MSM.

Honestly, in a democratic society, I believe it is the rights of unhappy devotees to send SMS or other means of communication to other Hindu devotees to boycott or support the Batu Cave temple. And equally, it is also the rights of recipients of the SMS to ignore the message and carry on to perform their religious rites in Batu Cave or elsewhere. It is not appropriate to use controlled MSM and religious platform to hurl ucultured words and uncalled for remarks to others who differed in opinions.

Be fair, and play fair. OM Namo Amithaba Buddha. Om Mani Pedme Hum....

Happy Thaipusan

To all my Hindu brothers and sisters, a very Happy Thaipusan. May the God of War, Lord Murugan continue to bless this earth with peace and prosperity. Today is declared a National Public Holiday in Malaysia, Thank You Very Much, HINDRAF !

Global Meltdown ?

"Black Monday !", they said. "Market crashed !", they cried. But who cares ? We dogs had perfected the art of blissful sleep. When we wake up, it will be a doggone day, everything will be okay. After all, how low can the market go ? It looks like a bear, sound likes a bear, but lingamnomic said, the market is still bullish...... Between bulls and bears, we dogs do not discriminate ! We sleep, therefore, we are the most lovable animals by civilized people.

Take my hands, precious lord....

I saw on CNN the previous evening an inspiring story of Dr Martin Luther King and his mission of civil rights moment to fight for equality for the blacks in America. For his efforts to end segregation and racial discrimination through non violent civil disobedience, King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was assassinated at the age of 39 on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee, but his legacy of championing human rights, fairness, equality, and justice for all lives on.

For biography of MLK, read HERE. Also, read "I've been to the Mountaintop", a speech by MLK a day before he was assssinated.

I took a short nab just now, and in my dreamy semi consciousness, I did indeed HAVE A DREAM ! I dreamt I was on a navy ship sailing somewhere in the planet of the apes, and a bunch of scary creatures looking like monkeys riding speed boats toward me and started to shout “I am cummmmmmmmmmming to you… You will explode in a few minutes...........”

Ahhh.... I digressed again ? But monkeys riding speed boats and speaking in English language ?

Oooooooo......., Blardy orgasmic ! Take My Hands, Precious Lord !

Religious hypocrisy - Piss or peace ?

"I dearly hope that authentic religious freedom could become reality everywhere and that everyone's right to practice their religion freely, or to change it, should not be impeded....... This is a primordial right for every human being"
- Pope Benedict -

Not so long ago, if I remembered it correctly, the Pope did mentioned that Buddhism is a form of erotic fantasy. As a Buddhist Taoist, I forgive him, because I know, he speaks out of ignorance for he do not have the opportunity to embrace the TRUTH in Buddhism.

I am not a Christian, but I do not hate Christians. I happened to believed that Christianity is one of the greatest religion. I respect Christianity but it does not mean I believed in their teachings. I respect the rights of Christians to believe in their teaching of salvation and damnations. Likewise, I do hope the Christians and followers of other religions respect my rights to believe in karma, vipakka, and reincarnation.

Coming back to the above quoted statement of Pope Benedict, honestly, I do have tremendous respect for this frailed looking old man because he finally preaches respect and freedom for other religions. I do hope other so called learned spiritual and religious leaders from other religions can emulate Pope Benedict to call on the rest of the world to respect the basic human rights of individual to profess, practice, or change religion. As long as these so called religious and spiritual leaders do not discard their intolerances and their refusal to respect freedom of religions, these morons are nothing but a bunch of rapists of civilizations.

Ironically, the followers of some religions demand others to respect and observe the sensitivity of their religions, but in their own countries where they are the majority, they are incapable to respect and observe the sensitivity toward other minority religions. Some religions readily accept the conversions of followers from other religions, but treat it as sinful if followers of their own religions converted to accept other religions. There have been too many instances of misguided followers of one religion resorted to destroy places of worship of other religions, threatened others with violent deaths and punishments if others renounced or convert out from their religion, attempt to unreasonably imposed their religious belief onto others, and prevent others from performing their own religious practices freely. The act of deliberately spreading hatreds and intolerances against followers of other religions, and impeding freedom of religion is uncivilized, uncultured, and barbaric. Some religions seemed to be very proud of their spiritual hypocrisy of claiming to be preaching love and peace but cowardly indoctrinate its followers to take the path of barbarism and violence.

Sometimes, it is beyond reasons to note that there are so called religiously inclined people ever quick to commit horrible and terrible violence attacks against innocent people all in the name of defending the honour and demanding respect for the founder of their religions. Should the rest of the world's civilized people expected to be apologetic to understand and respect these mobsters. These mobsters have every rights to revere the founders of their religions and commit violent deeds against their own kind and kill each other within the boundary of their own religions. Afterall, if they confined their religious teachings among and within themselves, others should be very happy to respect their rights to profess alternative paths of humanity as long as they don't harm others. It is absolutely ridiculous and arrogantly uncivilized insisting and asserting others to revere and respect these mobster's religions and their religions' founders.

Many violent conflicts and disputes are caused by differences in religious beliefs. How can a religion be a religion of peace when its followers resorted to brutal murders and barbaric violences to establish dominance of their religions over another and maim those who differed ?

When a person has no self respect, how can he respect others ? When the teaching of a religion encourage violences, how can the religion embrace love and peace ? Likewise, collectively, when a group of people have lost faith in their own religion, they will attempt to denounce the religions of others in the hope of masking and justifying their misguided faiths.

Some religiously inclined people shout to the world that their religion should be respected in other countries, but in their own countries, they claimed that it is their majority rights to disrespect other minority religions. They demand greater tolerance and freedom to practice their religions, but in countries where they are majority, they persecute, impede, and arrogantly intolerance against other minority religions. When they don't get what they want, they go on violent rampage to destroy lives and properties ! The world is not sensitive to their religious rights ? Hypocrites!

C'est La Vie ?

I woke up in the morning with an awful sensation of uneasiness and emotional discomfort. No, I didn't got up from the wrong side of the bed. Today is still a working day and the show must go on. So no choice, must get dress to go to the office to command the ship. Otherwise, those pirates in my office may command my ship into never land in my absence. On my way to office, I decided to detour to a nearby kopitiam to have wantan mee for breakfast. But luck was not with me this morning, after circling the area a few rounds, I was unable to find any proper place to park my car. On the other hand, I was also quite annoyed with all those inconsiderate people haphazardly double parked their cars in the area, making the road very congested and stressful to maneuver my vehicle. Well, never mind, maybe today is a good day to start dieting by skipping breakfast. I am overweight anyway ! So, I maneuver out from the congested area to the main road to drive straight to office.

At the office, the feeling of uneasiness and emotional discomforts still lingering around me. Something is just not right today. Everytime I had this feeling, something negative bounds to happen during the day.

At the same time, office is full of service calls, project deliverables, account receivables, and maintenance schedule to attend to. The level of negative pressures within the office today is overwhelming. Whatever it is, it is a good problem, attending to problems is, and will always be a key component of the business. All I need to do is to re prioritize the matters that need to be attended, and attend to it one at a time. I know, by completion of business today, today's problems will be resolved like what it used to be. It always will. I know, I am always an optimist come what may.

But today, is still a bit unusual. I am still having those funny feelings of somethings unwelcome is going to unfold today. But how do you deal with this extra perceptional sensation ? Like what I used to do, ignore it, and preoccupied myself with today tasks in the office. I resigned myself to the realization that, I should not indulge in whatever that is beyond my control. Whatever will be, will be.

Towards later part of the afternoon, a call came in. Sad to say, it is not a good news. I was informed that a person that I am acquainted with has passed away in the morning due to complication of sudden heart attacks. Sad, another good man has been recalled to the paradise of the Almighty. My good friend, may you rest in peace.

Life is such, full of hope but shrouded in unpredictability and vulnerability. I do wonder, if there is a God, that almighty fella is probably not doing his job in good faith. Honestly, I do felt very sad today.

We start every new year with full of optimism and resolutions. Everyday we work like programed robots. We work like as seemed we do not need to be paid, and we play like as seemed nobody is watching, all in the name of acquiring financial comforts for ourselves and our loved one. We acquired wealth, but work at even more relentless pace to defend the acquired wealths and to accumulate more wealths. But when the almighty decided to squeeze the last breaths out from us, the biggest properties we are going to have is probably a plot of land measuring 5 feet by 8 feet, and nothing else !

Life is, has always been, not what it meant to be ! That's life. Do enjoy yourself today. May you all have a good night sleep, may tomorrow be better for all of us. Good NiteZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Prayer of the day....

Oh mighty God!!
the all knowing, and the all merciful
and the all God knows what.....

On my bended knee,
I humbly present myself to you.
In my times of troubled mind,
I seek you for for answer.....

In your mighty wisdom
you created a two legged creature called "WOMAN"
She looks like a human being,
But her look can be so deceiving !

She looks so affirmative, yet she expects NO for an answer
She looks so weak, yet she is so strong
She looks so frail, yet she is so powerful
She looks so simple, yet her mind is so complex
She looks so illogical, yet she always win in an argument
She looks so formal, yet she is so desirable
She looks so mature, yet she is so sexy
She looks so authoritative, yet she is so adorable.
She can be everything which she is not....

Oh Almighty God, I am so confused !
Tell me what to do.
Amen...

Ever wonder why a woman can not become a good mechanic ?

About level playing fields...

As 2007 approached its end, I feared for the uncertainty of 2008. Now that 2008 is already here, and is already a couple of weeks old. Strangely, I am already beginning to develop a strange sense of optimism for the months that are going to unfold. I am, more or less, beginning to believe 2008 will be another great year.

For a start, my past little investment is unit trusts which I gave up hope in the previous years are recording better than expected returns. My investment in some selected KLSE stocks are also beginning to display healthy price appreciations. The properties I invested also show better than expected appreciation in values. Even my blog traffics show significant increased in visitor traffics to a tune of 1800 visitor hits the previous 24 hours. My son is also expected to graduate from private college in 2008, that will slash my personal expenses by a few thousand ringgits a month. On my business front, for the first time in so many years, the business expenses and overheads are substantially reduced to manageable level.

So, in a simplistic sense, 2008 should be a good year for me for sure. Hmmmm.... should I thank the government ? Or was it a case of my ability to adapt to extreme conditions and came out stronger to survive ? Maybe, I am simply just plain lucky. Whatever it is, I will take times off to ponder on who should take credits for creating all this positive wealth and enthusiastic energies surrounding me.

Taking into consideration of my efforts, I sincerely would like to believe that, luck got nothing to do with my current state of being. Yes, maybe I should thank the business environment for making me adaptable to all those difficult business and economic conditions. Like they said, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going ! I hope I am going on the right direction..... One thing for sure, I survived thus far on my own without any handouts and preferential treatments from my surrounding political and social habitats.

Sad to note that, there are so many mental retards out there still persist to have the shameless mentality that, if other people work hard with determination to better their living conditions, these hard working people are being perceived as denying these mental retards the opportunities to better themselves, No insensitivity intended, but I would really appreciate these mental retards fart their grievances elsewhere. When are these people going to realize the world doesn't owed them a living. In the first place, what economic opportunities have they sacrificed or are being denied ? What we have here is, a bunch of lazy people everyday kowpek kowboo demanding to be spoon fed. The economy will fare much better without these bunch of crying babies constantly seeking entitlement of special benefits and advantages without contributive efforts, simply because they felt that, or are being lead to believe, that they are "under-priviledged".

If some of us can work very hard to make the best out of the worst, why can't the rest also do the same ?

If we want something, common sense tells us that we have to work for it. Money and wealth don't just drop from the sky no matter how hard we pray to our God or how pathetic we cried out for help. On the other hand, if we threaten others with despicable threats, we may get what we want temporary. But, does that made us any different from those thieves, robbers, and rapists ? Aren't we are all human with dignity, pride, righteousness, and religious values. Are we ? If I am their God, I will be very annoyed listening to all these morons' insincere and inconsistent prayers, and I may even condemn these morons to hell.

Sure, we may apologitically claim that some people are under-priviledged because the playing fields we operated on are non level. I accept the reality that, to compete fairly, there must be level playing fields. But do we know what level playing field means ? Level playing field simply means the promotion of an environment in which everybody in a given market follow the same rules, given equal ability, and no advantage are given to anyone to compete.

The question I need to ask is, am I, like the rest of many hard working and silent Malaysians, being given the privileges to operate on level level playing fields ? Was I given a loan or scholarship to further mine and my children education ? NO. I used my hard earned money to ensure other tax payers are not unnecessarily burdened. Was I given any grant or soft loan to operate my business ? NO. I used my saving and borrowed money with full interest rates to finance my business. activities Was I given special contracts and concessions to grow my business ? NO. I used my money to slog it out on the streets to gain customer based on competitiveness and acquired expertise. So, how levelled should the playing fields be levelled. Why are there still so many people out there, while enjoying all the obscene benefits, still insist that the fields they operate on are not levelled ?

On my part, and with my own limited resources and sacrifices, I develop my ability by levelling my own side of the playing field. Believe me, it is a lot of hard works, sweats, and tears to make my field levelled. Rightly, if anyone demands a level playing fields, he or she should at the very least make extra efforts and sacrifices to level their side of the playing field first. It is disgusting and ungodly for those idiots constantly harping on their god damned rights to intentionally digging and making pot holes on other people's plot of playing fields with the hope of making them unleveled, riddled with hindrances, and uncompetitive. Some of us already worked twice as hard to get half as far. I just can't imagined why there still some inconsiderate pariahs shamelessly demanding their rights to make tings more difficult for other hard working people. If good and hard working people like me failed, it would be a great loss to the economy. At the end of the day, all of us may end up having all our playing fields riddled with pot holes, thus making it difficult for anybody to even walk on it.

Politicians being what they are will never failed to prostituting the world second oldest profession to glorify their pariahism,. Some will forever harp on racial and religious issues to gain political mileages to sustain their stay. Continued provision of support to these politicians arising from our own narrow minded selfish interests and greeds will eventually cause great harms to our economy in the future. The sooner we reject these racial pariahs and communal parasites, the better Malaysia and Malaysians will be in the future.

If we persists on decadent demands on the economy without meritorious and economically productive efforts, I will not be surprised to see our economy slowly disintegrating and degrading into a miserable mess where eventually everyone of us live in hardships. Perhaps, in the not so distant future, our mothers, wives, sisters may end-up having have to work as domestic maids in Indonesia, China, Singapore, or Thailand. And, our fathers, husbands, and brothers may end-up working as cheap migrant workers in other India , Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Wake up Malaysia. Wake up Malaysians. Wake up communal pariahs and rent seeking politicians, don't you know by persistently harping on racial and religious rights, you are sowing the seeds for a degraded life for everybody in Malaysia in the future ?

Ahhhh.... as usual, I have digressed.

Whatever it is, if there is a God, I do sincerely hope God bless all of us with prosperity and good health. I also sincerely hope the same God can enlightened everyone of us with the ability to see humanity with fair eyes. In the mean times, I do sincerely hope everyone can have the basic moral decency and religiosity to respect the rights of others and learn to earn a legitimate income through productive economic activities.

Peace be with you. Om Namo Amithaba Buddha......

A New Year Dog Party ?

Dogs are men's best friends. I hope this statement is not offensive to the misguided religious belief of all those apology seeking pussies lovers. Sure, I can understand the wonderful feeling of touching a warm pussy, but at the same time, I also hope others can be respectful of my rights to caress and stroke my hot dog. By the way, a dog is the only creation of god who loves you more than he loves himself. Like it or not, a dog is a nicer person than the average pussies lovers. If you take good care of a dog, he will wag his tail in gratitude whenever he sees you, loyal to you, and will never bite you. Can man do that ?

Do you know, when you come home, your dog will always run to the door to greet you and jump in joy. Whenever you are having a bad day, he will sit by your side silently no matter how long it takes. Now, has your wife and pussy ever done that to you ? Do you also know, DOG is the mirror image of GOD ? So, treat your dog well, and GOD will love you in return.....

In association of dogs contributions to civilized human's civilization, a New Year Dog Party was organized for dogs in Tokyo on January 12 and 13 2008. The party includes various events such as fashion show, yoga, arotherapy, health counselling, etc. for the dogs and theirs owners.

Woof... woof.... for more information on the New Year Dog Party, please visit HERE. I think the site is written in funny dog language only the Japanese can understand, you need to be a dog lover to understand the site's contents.

Oh well, like my dog always say to me "Life is short; Bite hard !" Om Namo Amithaba Buddha.....

Out of the Top 10 ranking universities in ASIA, 4 are from Japan, 5 are from China, and the remaining 1 is from Singapore. We are also nowhere near the Top 100 universities in Asia. In terms of Global Ranking, None of Malaysia's universities are anywhere near the TOP 1000 universities.

Well, the fact speaks for itself ! Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Phillipines, and Singapore are way ahead of Malaysia. Despite all our constant shouting of Malaysia bolih this and that, and all the emotional rhetorics of shiok sendiri and self denials, we are already an academic backwaters nation in South East Asia, I shake my head.

How clean is our electoral roll ?

General Elections is coming around the corner....

I received an email from an eGroup alerting some discrepancies of our electoral roll. I checked the IC provided at the Elections Commission's website (http://daftarj.spr.gov.my). Surprisingly, all the three IC number (IC: 991214740101, IC: 910815750017, IC: 981231081137 ) are officially registered as eligible voters ! Either these 3 people are 8, 16, and 9 years old, or they are 108, 116, and 109 years old. Perhaps, these discrepancies are only tip of the iceberg ! I am now doubting the integrity of the impartiality of the Elections Commission. No wonder BERSIH conducted a massive street rally late last year to demand for fair general elections.

I do sincerely hope our Elections Commission can initiate some clean up of the electoral roll to weed out phantom voters, otherwise, we are merely making a mockery of our democratic system. Without a clean electoral roll, I doubt we are going to have any fair elections.

The followings are three screen shots from the Elections Commission's website as at January 11 2008. Scary ! Hmmmm....

8 years old or 108 years old ?

16 years old or 116 years old ?

9 years old or 109 years old ?

The world's cheapest car.

India's Tata Motors unveiled Tata Nano, the world cheapest car on January 10, 2007 at the 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi, India. The price tag is 100,000 rupees ( approximately RM 8,000). Nano is a four doors subcompact. It can squeeze in five people. The car meets international safety and emission standards, pollute less than a motorcycles, and command fuel efficiency of 20 kilometers per litre. For more information, READ HERE.

The Indians are si pek hor lio ! Well, what can I say, the Indian engineers are probably the best in the world. I guess, it would be economically more efficient to import cars from India than wasting resources to salvage our dented pride in Proton. Maybe we can send our retrenched auto engineers from Proton to India to retrain them how to make roti canai, chapati, morukoo, etc.

Maybe we should aspire to become the best roti canai and morukoo makers in the world.

Different strokes....

I found the following article quite interesting. I am reproducing this article verbatim in this blog for your reading pleasure. It does enlightened me to realize that written history is not always a documentation of true accounts of past events. Human beings tend to have the revisionist tendencies to rewrite and retold history to glorify others people achievements as their own.

I am not an expert in the history of middle east, therefore, it is not my intention to dispute or agree with the arguments of Peter BetBasoo. As far as I am concern, what is past is past. No matter how human beings attempt to rewrite, deny, or dispute history to suit their cultural pride or agenda, truth should be told, and truth shall always prevails. History should always be told and challenge in truthful and accurate manner for the betterment of humanity.

The reason I post this article is to enable readers of this blog to relook into human civilization with educated mind and different perspectives. I love to read news or articles with and open mind and different perspectives. I am an addict for mental stimulations. Sincerely, no insensitivity or offense is intended to any group of people. If you felt offended by this posting, my sincere apology for your misinterpretation of my intention.

The following is the article, Muslim Claims of Accomplishment, by Peter BetBasoo.

EDITOR'S NOTE: There is great need for setting the record straight on the history of the Middle East. The revisionism of the last few years will lead Western Civilization into bondage. The following letter by Assyrian scholar Peter BetBasoo is a very important step in the right direction. It was sent by Assyrian scholar Peter BetBasoo to Carly Fiorina, CEO of Hewlett Packard Corporation, in response to a speech she presented in Minneapolis on September 26, 2001. It is reprinted by permission. Please read and pass it on to others.

Dear Madame Fiorina:

It is with great interest that I read your speech delivered on September 26, 2001, titled "Technology, Business and Our way of Life: What's Next" [sic]. I was particularly interested in the story you told at the end of your speech, about the Arab civilization. As an Assyrian, a non-Arab, Christian native of the Middle East, whose ancestors reach back to 5000 B.C., I wish to clarify some points you made in this little story, and to alert you to the dangers of unwittingly being drawn into the Arabist ideology, which seeks to assimilate all cultures and religions into the Arab fold.

I know you are a very busy woman, but please find ten minutes to read what follows, as it is a perspective that you will not likely get from anywhere else. I will answer some of the specific points you made in your speech, then conclude with a brief perspective on this Arabist/Islamist ideology.

Arabs appeared on the world scene in 630 A.D., when the armies of Muhammad began their conquest of the Middle East. We should be very clear that this was a military conquest, not a missionary enterprise, and through the use of force, authorized by a declaration of a Jihad against infidels, Arabs were able to forcibly convert and assimilate non-Arabs and non-Muslims into their fold. Very few indigenous communities of the Middle East survived this - primarily Assyrians, Jews, Armenians and Coptics (of Egypt).

Having conquered the Middle East, Arabs placed these communities under a Dhimmi (see the book DHIMMI, by Bat Ye'Or) system of governance, where the communities were allowed to rule themselves as religious minorities (Christians, Jews and Zoroastrian). These communities had to pay a tax (called a Jizzya in Arabic) that was, in effect, a penalty for being non-Muslim, and that was typically 80% in times of tolerance and up to 150% in times of oppression. This tax forced many of these communities to convert to Islam, as it was designed to do.

You state, "its architects designed buildings that defied gravity." I am not sure what you are referring to, but if you are referring to domes and arches, the fundamental architectural breakthrough of using a parabolic shape instead of a spherical shape for these structures was made by the Assyrians more than 1300 years earlier, as evidenced by their archaeological record.

You state,

"its mathematicians created the algebra and algorithms that would enable the building of computers, and the creation of encryption."
The fundamental basis of modern mathematics had been laid down not hundreds but thousands of years before by Assyrians and Babylonians, who already knew of the concept of zero, of the Pythagorean Theorem, and of many, many other developments expropriated by Arabs (see HISTORY OF BABYLONIAN MATHEMATICS by Otto E. Neugebauer).

You state,

"its doctors examined the human body, and found new cures for disease."

The overwhelming majority of these doctors (99%) were Assyrians. In the fourth, fifth, and sixth centuries Assyrians began a systematic translation of the Greek body of knowledge into Assyrian. At first, they concentrated on the religious works but then quickly moved to science, philosophy and medicine. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Galen, and many others were translated into Assyrian, and from Assyrian into Arabic. It is these Arabic translations which the Moors brought with them into Spain, and which the Spaniards translated into Latin and spread throughout Europe, thus igniting the European Renaissance.

By the sixth century A.D., Assyrians had begun exporting back to Byzantia their own works on science, philosophy and medicine. In the field of medicine, the Bakhteesho Assyrian family produced nine generations of physicians, and founded the great medical school at Gundeshapur (Iran). Also in the area of medicine, (the Assyrian) Hunayn ibn-Ishaq's textbook on ophthalmology, written in 950 A.D., remained the authoritative source on the subject until 1800 A.D.

In the area of philosophy, the Assyrian philosopher Job of Edessa developed a physical theory of the universe, in the Assyrian language, that rivaled Aristotle's theory, and that sought to replace matter with forces (a theory that anticipated some ideas in quantum mechanics, such as the spontaneous creation and destruction of matter that occurs in the quantum vacuum).

One of the greatest Assyrian achievements of the fourth century was the founding of the first university in the world, the School of Nisibis, which had three departments, theology, philosophy and medicine, and which became a magnet and center of intellectual development in the Middle East. The statutes of the School of Nisibis, which have been preserved, later became the model upon which the first Italian university was based (see THE STATUTES OF THE SCHOOL OF NISIBIS by Arthur Voobus).

When Arabs and Islam swept through the Middle East in 630 A.D., they encountered 600 years of Assyrian Christian civilization, with a rich heritage, a highly developed culture, and advanced learning institutions. It is this civilization that became the foundation of the Arab civilization.
You state,

"Its astronomers looked into the heavens, named the stars, and paved the way for space travel and exploration."

This is a bit melodramatic. In fact, the astronomers you refer to were not Arabs but Chaldeans and Babylonians (of present day south-Iraq), who for millennia were known as astronomers and astrologers, and who were forcibly Arabized and Islamized - so rapidly that by 750 A.D. they had disappeared completely.

You state,

"its writers created thousands of stories. Stories of courage, romance and magic. Its poets wrote of love, when others before them were too steeped in fear to think of such things."

There is very little literature in the Arabic language that comes from this period you are referring to (the Koran is the only significant piece of literature), whereas the literary output of the Assyrians and Jews was vast. The third largest corpus of Christian writing, after Latin and Greek, is by the Assyrians in the Assyrian language (also called Syriac).

You state,

"when other nations were afraid of ideas, this civilization thrived on them, and kept them alive. When censors threatened to wipe out knowledge from past civilizations, this civilization kept the knowledge alive, and passed it on to others."

This is a very important issue you raise, and it goes to the heart of the matter of what Arab/Islamic civilization represents. I reviewed a book titled HOW GREEK SCIENCE PASSED TO THE ARABS, in which author De Lacy O'Leary lists the significant translators and interpreters of Greek science. Of the 22 scholars listed, 20 were Assyrians, one was Persian and one an Arab. I state at the end of my review:

"The salient conclusion which can be drawn from O'Leary's book is that Assyrians played a significant role in the shaping of the Islamic world via the Greek corpus of knowledge. If this is so, one must then ask the question, what happened to the Christian communities which made them lose this great intellectual enterprise they had established? One can ask this same question of the Arabs. Sadly, O'Leary's book does not answer this question, and we must look elsewhere for the answer."

I did not answer this question I posed in the review because it was not the place to answer it, but the answer is very clear, the Christian Assyrian community was drained of its population through forced conversion to Islam (by the Jizzya), and once the community had dwindled below a critical threshold, it ceased producing the scholars that were the intellectual driving force of the Islamic civilization, and that is when the so called "Golden Age of Islam" came to an end (about 850 A.D.).

Islam the religion itself was significantly molded by Assyrians and Jews (see NESTORIAN INFLUENCE ON ISLAM and HAGARISM: THE MAKING OF THE ISLAMIC WORLD).

Arab civilization is not a progressive force, it is a regressive force; it does not give impetus, it retards. The great civilization you describe was not an Arab accomplishment, it was an Assyrian accomplishment that Arabs expropriated and subsequently lost when they drained, through the forced conversion of Assyrians to Islam, the source of the intellectual vitality that propelled it. What other Arab civilization has risen since? What other Arab successes can we cite?

You state,

"and perhaps we can learn a lesson from his [Suleiman] example: It was leadership based on meritocracy, not inheritance. It was leadership that harnessed the full capabilities of a very diverse population that included Christianity, Islamic, and Jewish traditions."

In fact, the Ottomans were extremely oppressive to non-Muslims. For example, young Christian boys were forcefully taken from their families, usually at the age of 8-10, and inducted into the Janissaries, (yeniceri in Turkish) where they were Islamized and made to fight for the Ottoman state. What literary, artistic or scientific achievements of the Ottomans can we point to? We can, on the other hand, point to the genocide of 750,000 Assyrians, 1.5 million Armenians and 400,000 Greeks in World War One by the Kemalist "Young Turk" government.

Arabs are engaged in an explicit campaign of destruction and expropriation of cultures and communities, identities and ideas. Wherever Arab civilization encounters a non-Arab one, it attempts to destroy it (as the Buddhist statues in Afghanistan were destroyed, as Persepolis was destroyed by the Ayotollah Khomeini).

This is a pattern that has been recurring since the advent of Islam, 1400 years ago, and is amply substantiated by the historical record. If the "foreign" culture cannot be destroyed, then it is expropriated, and revisionist historians claim that it is and was Arab, as is the case of most of the Arab "accomplishments" you cited in your speech. For example, Arab history texts in the Middle East teach that Assyrians were Arabs, a fact that no reputable scholar would assert, and that no living Assyrian would accept. Assyrians first settled Nineveh, one of the major Assyrian cities, in 5000 B.C., which is 5630 years before Arabs came into that area. Even the word 'Arab' is an Assyrian word, meaning "Westerner" (the first written reference to Arabs was by the Assyrian King Sennacherib, 800 B.C., in which he tells of conquering the "ma'rabayeh" - Westerners. See THE MIGHT THAT WAS ASSYRIA by H. W. F. Saggs).

Even in America this Arabization policy continues. On October 27th a coalition of seven Assyrian and Maronite organizations sent an official letter to the Arab American Institute asking it to stop identifying Assyrians and Maronites as Arabs, which it had been deliberately doing.
There are minorities and nations struggling for survival in the Arab ocean of the Middle East and Africa (Assyrians, Armenians, Coptics, Jews, southern Sudanese, Ethiopians, Nigerians...), and we must be very sensitive not to unwittingly and inadvertently support Islamic fascism and Arab Imperialism, with their attempts to wipe out all other cultures, religions and civilizations. It is incumbent upon each one of us to do our homework and research when making statements and speeches about these sensitive matters.

I hope you found this information enlightening. You may contact me at keepa@ninevehsoft.com for further questions.

Of sex and politics......

Happy New Year 2008 ! On the first day of 2008, Malaysians are greeted with the admission by Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, that, he is the ONE featured in the SEX DVDs circulating in Johore. He said the woman in the sex DVD is his "PERSONAL FRIEND".

Chua is the Minister Of Health in Malaysia.

Chua once said in a speech that ".....As you are aware, Vision 2020 calls for the establishment of a fully moral and ethical society whose citizens are strong in religious and spiritual values......" I guess, it is now okay for all of us to have sex with "Personal Friend", because this is not part of the values of fully moral and ethical society, and it has nothing to do with strong religious and spiritual values.

Chua also said he will not resign over the sex DVD scandal, and leave it to Barisan Nasional's president, Abdullah Badawi to decide his fate. Dear Prime Minister, he said his BALLS are now in your court ! So, what are you going to do about it ? Kick it, squeeze it, or caress it ? Maybe create another portfolio and made him the Minister Of Sex ?

How can those idiots be so insensitive to secretly tapping Chua and his "Personal Friend" making love in a hotel room ? Luckily our Visit Malaysia Year 2007 is officially over yesterday. Otherwise, I don't think any foreign tourists would dare to visit Malaysia or stay in our hotels. For those people planning to visit Malaysia or staying in Malaysia hotels, words of advise, BE Very Careful During Your Stay in MALAYSIA !

Niahmah, sometimes, I do wonder how high is our "high moral ground". 99,999 feet below sea level ? Kanlinlowboooooo.... who am I to say what is morally right or wrong ? After all, aren't we a righteous nation of a fully moral and ethical society where our political leaders are strong in religious and spiritual values ?

Happy New Year 2008

Here we have another new beginning,
Another chance to be what we are not.
Praised be those who recognize the rot,
Portion out the guilt, and go on living.
Years change far more frequently than we,

Nor are our changes more than painted screens,
Each placed to maximize our meager means,
Windows on a world that none can see.

Yet, truth be told, we know well what’s within.
Each resolution fails to touch the heart,
As in the end we are, as at the start,
Remorseful reprobates, half hope, half sin.
