In search of another option ?

I had been off medication since the completion of my radiotherapy in June 2009. My last visit to my regular Oncologist indicated that my CA19.9 marker has risen, and I agreed with the good doctor that I will be going for another CT scan to do positional review in first week of January 2010. After which I will have to decide, in consultation with the doctor, whether to proceed with another protocol of Chemotherapy.

I take note that my previous treatments protocols of IV chemotherapy, oral chemotherapy, and 3D Conformal therapy, and B17 alternative treatment did not produce the desired results. While waiting for my monthly check-up and the incoming CT Scan, I decided to try out Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM). I visited the Traditional Chinese Medicines section of Tung Shin hospital to seek the alternative treatment. The Oncologist who attended to me is Prof Zhao Tiang Yong. Today is my second weekly visit to Prof Zhao office. Prof Zhao has prescribed a combination of herbs to be boiled ( with given instruction of how to prepare the dicotion). The dicotion is to be taken twice a day.

"The Prescription"
"The Herbs Medication"

I guess, as it is, I am almost running out of option to combat my existing health problem. As a sane man, I do have my fear and anxieties facing this state of uncertainty. Over the next few weeks, I have to seriously reconsider all options and make an informed decision on my next course of action.

I also did my own research on the Internet and found another option of using Cryotherapy to combat advanced stage cancer. Cryosurgery treatment is available at Fuda Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou, China. My brief research in Internet indicated that Cryotherapy is the application of liquid nitrogen using cryoprobe to target at the tumor to induce extreme cold to destroy the abnormal cancer issues. I will have to consult the doctor on the viability of this new option on my next scheduled appointment.

CK, I am praying you will see positive results from the herbs. With such treatments, at least there is no toxic downside. All the Best.

Dear Brother Jacob Sew,

I am sorry I can not post your comment here as it is incompatible with my thoughts and believe.

(1) I take note of your suggestion that I should stop chemotherapy, but a question I need to ask you is, are you a qualified medical pracitioners ?

(2) As a Christian, I subscribe to ceratin fundamental decency and values. BUT, I DO NOT believe in fanatical belief that is incompatible with rational and reasonable logic.

(3) I respect your view that using the word "DALAI" made me less christian. BUT, who are you to judge me. By your own reasonaning, why don't you drop using Jacob as your name because it make you less Chinese ?

I pray that the ALmighty grant you the wisdom not to judge people and have an open mind to accept the truth of being.....

This guy enjoys taunting the sick. Ignore him. Don't forget your simplest prayer to Jesus daily. I wasn't looking for Jesus but he came to see me And after that I wasn't even asking for healings and he healed me of my long mysterious pain!
Continue what you are doing BUT don't forget those simple prayers to my friend Jesus

Well, what can I say ? I may be sicked in body, But I am not sicked in Mind.

If you asked me, I would said "This world is full of mentally sicked people looming around in dark corners preaching their insanities and ignorances...."

Praise be with the Almighty...

Dear "Pastor John Lam",

First and foremost, I am an open minded person. I do not wish for people with biased religious opinions to attempt to convert this blog into an avenue for preaching Christianity. May I advise you that the best place to preach religiousity is at the places of worship.

I respect all other religions. If, in your opinion, my respect for Buddha and Buddhism will attract punishments from the the Almighty. Then, at least I know now what kind of religion is Christianity, I guess it is best for me to leave Christianity rather than allow myself to become a religious bigot incapable of respecting other people religious's inclination.

May Buddha have mercy on your intolerances on others' religions.....

I can understand what you have been through. Though I have never manage to complete reading the bible, I have this to offer you. There were parables of Jesus healing the sick but Jesus never once said such things about punishments(believing in other religions) DURING healing.
"Your faith has made you well" HE speaks positively in situations like this. Jesus never said because you believe in another religion, you will get punishment instead of healing. Some are just inadequate and should be ignored. To believers or non -believers Jesus is compassionate and he heals. I should know. My appeal to some is to not do a disservice to Him.

Whatever it is, I had have enough of the pervertism of glorifying punishments and pains. All I need now is some peace of mind. Perhaps Buddhism can offer this much needed space to seek healing.....

Dear "Pastor Jphn lam",

First you post your comments as annonymous, then you post as "Jacob Sew", you are now posting your comments again as "Pastor John Lam" of SIngapore. Well, who knows, tomorrow you may post your comment as "Pope Bennedict", and so on...

The funny thing is, from the log of visitor IP Address, you are posting from Subang Jaya....

Sincerely, I have enough of your brand of Christianity glorifying punishments and pains.

I now find great comforts in studying the loving kindness of Buddhism. So, please keep your Christianity values to yourself...

May Buddha have mercy on you....

"Come Follow Me!" This is what Jesus said reaching out to all. He didn't spent his time searching for the unwell to taunt them.

"Cast your burdens upon me" were kind soothing words to the troubled.
This, HE said to me.

Looks like Jesus is being painted as a very cruel sort of chap (esp to those not well) from this pastor here.

BTW, just ignore posts from anonymous, pastor this and that.
Responding to these monsters is like feeding them.

I know that I am accountable for what I said, however unpleasant it may be, as an example I leave my contacts, emails, and even my hp numbers at my pages. Get it, 'pastor'?.

Benny,

Like I said, I do not wish to subject myself to be abused by perverts.

He posted comments twice today quoting from scripture threatening punishments from his God. Why should I accept a God who claim to have unconditional love and yet is so preoccupied with punishing others ? I now find Buddhism and Buddha more appealing and acceptable.

There is only one thing I can say now, I do not wish to be associated with fanatism and intolerances. And I would like to appeal to this so called Pastor to preach his Christianity elsewhere.

If you can understand rebirth merely as changing bodies, the fear of death disappears. The greatest difficulty people have is attachment and worry for their loved ones. That is a great impediment because it gives unnecessary stress and you become attached to outcomes. In Buddhsim, we accept that Guanyin Bodhisattva is also Mother Mary of the Catholic faith. Hey, I'm a Buddhist and I have no problems teaching in a Catholic school! I'm pretty open-minded, I do think that Buddhism helps in reducing affliction, worry and attachment. It is a philosohy, not a religon (important!). there shouldn't be a conflict of interest! Anyway you can write to me if you need any help. :)

"He posted comments twice today quoting from scripture threatening punishments from his God."

This is from a "quack" pastor, if this is of paramount importance then why was not these scriptures included when one accepts and ask for forgiveness to become a christian. Does Jesus need these kind of deceptive advertisements by excluding these scriptures on the first instance?

However there may be many biblical verses for different occassions i.e sadness, happiness, in grief, in pain, in sickness but this anonymous pastor got his tools mixed up.

So use common sense when dealing with people posting as anonymous.

Come to think of it, I am now beginning to understand why there are so many people from the so called Christian countries denounced their Christian faith and start to accept other religions.....

The bible is the best source of truth!
John 10:10 =The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Jeremiah 31:3 =The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.

Dalai Baru ( CK ) said...

You mean to say that the so called Pastor John Lam is a thief ?

bennyloh said...

A BIG YES! Christianity doesn't belong to his father. He's acting like he has inherited this! Why should you allow him to create the confusion, he is nothing but a fake- an imposter.

bennyloh said...

Pastor John Lam should tell this to Dr. Ali Sinnah and Wakaf Sultan that they both are not credible Christians.

Kiat, I am very sad with what you have undergone lately just because of one insensitive bigot.I wish to give you the much needed comfort but sometimes I just do not know how to do it, to be honest. Just continue with what you have been doing and continue with what you believe is right and God will work on you in his own mysterious ways.To me no matter what one's religious beliefs are, it boils down to the one and only God.It's just that we call God in different terms. All religions teach us to be tolerant of each other. I will always pray for you in my daily prayers. I pray that you have peace in all your thoughts and be happy with what you have been doing.Hope this will cheer you up.

Dalai Baru ( CK ) said...

No worry... everybody is entitled to their own opinions. Some people seemed to think that it is their God damn rights to impose their misguided religious values on others. Let it be. Life goes on......

I am a young follower of your blog. I have learnt a lot about human behaviour from the insights you share.

Keep up your fighting spirit and continue to believe yourself and your family and friends. You can win this fight and you can lick cancer.

Don't let others' comments upset you. I believe in the goodness of people. Many are just over zealous to help and have good intentions but the approach they use may not have taken consideration of the others' state of mind and degree of acceptance.

The truth is no one can get you upset without your consent. So don't focus on the unhealthy and unproductive habit of quarrels or picking differences with others. In other words, dont fight all the small battles, fight the war - the war against cancer. You can win this fight and win you must.

Good luck.

I didn't get a chance to read all these comments till now.All I can say to Anonymous/Jacob Sew/Pastor John Lam is..."Ha! I bet you didn't know my brother,Dalai Baru, has a degree in computer technology, eh? He could sniff you out from your IP address for the louse that you are." You are nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing and a bigot, and I fear for your followers. You should be thankful the Christ we know preaches love and forgiveness. even towards you for all the intolerance and hatred you spewed into my brother's blog site.Salvation is to them that believed and to them who called on the name of Christ, not to them who are named John and Jacob etc.
