The famous Tambun pomelo

Tambun is famous for its pomelo. I visited this pomelo farm on Sunday. The farm has two type of pomelo - the sweet variety and the sour variety. The pomelo farm is located at Lot 33858 Kampung Baru Tambun, 31400 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. You can also call the owner of the farm, Mr Tan, in advance to order the pomelo. Mr Tan hand phone number is 012 - 502 5950.

Hey DB, I was in Penang and Ipoh and again went to Penang then on the way back to KL, I decided to stop by at Gopeng Pomelo stalls.

I remember the old stalls but have now been relocated to new lots. As usual one will see many perhaps pretty girls ushering. With too many to handle, I decided to look around and end up supporting the mother-like lady business.

I bought RM200.00 worth of pomeloes, the last time I tried I prefer the sour sweet red ones. I am not too sure what price range would be correct, however with a little haggle, it came to about RM14/pc instead of initially offered at RM15/pc. I was at Tesco today and saw the price/pc was RM8.88 of the same size but they are from Johor where I have also tasted and they are fairly good.

For the Tambun variety from the stall, I hope I had a good buy and because of CNY around the corner while I was there, I just have to make someone happy, the seller's business and me of course and relatives too whom I am going to give to.

With your info of the orchard here, perhaps I can buy more and selectively. Thanks.

Someday we shall catch up in Taiping for Toast Bread and Teh C.

Cheers, DB.
