Mother's Day
In honour of Rhea, the mother of all Gods....
In my younger days, My siblings and I were brought up in a typical oriental family and values. We were not aware of the occasional celebrations such as Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Father's Day, etc. To my late mother, everyday is a Mother's Day. That is, a day where it became habitual chore for her to tale care of the family from morning to late evening. Although, I do heard of occasional grumblings from her due to the never ending tasks of getting the house in order, but she did it out of love and spontaneously. A house without a mother is not a home. A home with a mother is a place of love and spiritual enlightenment.

Despite all the braggings by Asian men and women on how they valued their families and religious values, mothers, being women are not accorded the official respects and appreciations. The roles, responsibilities, and contributions by mothers are generally taken for granted by most Asian societies. That speak so much about Asians' forked mentalities. But it took the "decadence" westerners to at least dedicate ONE day of of 365 days to honour and remember the good deeds and sacrifices of all mothers. Despite all the insinuations by the so call religiously righteous Asian men about the immoral and decadence western culture, I beg to differ, and is taking off my hat now to salute the western cultures for their courage to respect human rights, morality, civility, and appropriateness.
Today, May 13th 2007, is Mother's Day. To all mothers, I salute you for your kindness, sacrifices, and love you bestowed on your children and family. Have a happy day today, and many more happy days ahead.
May we also remind ourselves that, today is also the anniversary date of the despicable racial riots in Malaysia where many innocent and hardworking Malaysian were killed and murdered by rent seeking and grievance seeking racists. May God bless the souls of the murdered victims and shower their descendants with good life and prosperity. May the souls of all those racist murderers and instigators be forever condemned in Hell. May all mothers teach their children not to be blinded with racial hatreds and immoral rent seeking mentality to conduct injustices on others.
Om Mani Padme Hum. Om Namo Amithaba Buddha....
