Christmas Day's rantings....

Today is Christmas Day. I am not a Christian, but I do appreciate the opportunity to have this beautiful rest day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and to remember this great man who gave his life to humanity. Haleluya to the world.... blessed are the followers of this prophet of peace. May the followers of other prophets emulate the followers of Jesus Christ to glorify life and peace.

Over a cup of nice hot coffee, I did some light readings after breakfast. The followings are some observations or perhap rantings from today's WAISF ( what am I surfing for ) over the internet.

There are approximately 1.8 billion Buddhists in the world. Buddhism is now the second largest religion after Christianity, and the fastest growing religion in the world. As a Buddhist myself, I am very happy to note that, increasingly, people are beginning to accept Buddhism as the truth of life.

25% of the world's population are Chinese, 20% are Indian, 14% are African, 11% are European, 9% are South American, 5% are North American, and the balance 16% are a mixed of thousand of ethnic groups. ONE out of FOUR people in the world is Chinese ? I can now understand why the Chinese government implemented a ONE CHILD policy many years ago, otherwise, the world will end up having only Chinese and Indian on every corner of the earth. Literally making the Chinese and Indian the legitimate Prince of the Land !

The People's Republic of China has a population of 1,322,774,200, which constitutes approximately 20% of world population. The second most populous nation is India with a population of 1,131,043,000 , which constitutes 16.95% of the world population. Malaysia has a population of 27 million people, which constitute less than half a percent of world population. Hmmm... The China's population is approximately 50 times larger than Malaysia's population. I can't imagined if 1.3 billion Chinese aim their arshes toward Malaysia and farted simultaneously, would we suffer Typhoon, hurricane, and great floods ?

The tallest Building in the world is Taiwan's Taipei 101 building ( 1,667 ft). Malaysia's tallest building is Petronas Twin Towers ( 1,483 ft). Hmmm... we should have just build one tower with a height of 2,966 ft tall, rather than the existing twin towers which is neither here nor there.

The Longest bridge in the world is Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (126,024 ft) of the United States of America. Malaysia longest bridge is the Penang Bridge measured at 27,559 feet. How can the Americans be so insensitive to have bridge almost five times longer than our longest Penang Bridge.

The tallest mountain in the world is Mount Everest (29,028 feet ) in the Buddhist Kingdom. Malaysia's tallest mountain is Mount Kinabalu (13,433ft). Two of the longest river in the world are Amazon River (6,683 km) and the Yangtze River (6,380 km). The Longest River in Malaysia is Sarawak's Rajang River ( 563KM). How can other countries have their landmarks taller and longer than us ? Maybe we should altered our geography text books to quote our Mount Kinabalu as 14,000 feet high, and our Rajan River as 6,400 KM long. After all, if it made us feel good, why not ? We are after all living in the bolihland..................
