Ganesh Chaturthi, or Ganesha Festival, is an auspicious occasion in Hindu calender. Today, September 15th 2007, is the first day of the 10 days celebration of Ganesh Festival. Hindu Devotees all over the world celebrates Ganesh Festival to commemorate the Birthday of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is the elephant-headed and potbellied son of Shiva and Parvati. In Hindu religion, Lord Ganesha is the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. He is also the benevolent protector of the innocent, and ruthless destroyer of evils. Lord Ganesha is one of the most popular God for Hindu and a lot of non Hindu. As a Buddhist practising Taoism, on regular basis, I do visit Hindu temple to pray and pay respect to Lord Ganesha. So, If you want good health, wealth, and success, do visit the Hindu temple over the next 10 days to offer your prayers to Lord Ganesha.
