World's Tallest flower blossoms in Tokyo

The tallest flower in the world has come into bloom at the Koishikawa Botanical Garden of the University of Tokyo. The blooming bud is about 1 meter in length and the plant reaches some 3.1 meters in total. The botanical garden in Tokyo's Bunkyo-ku is the only facility in Japan that raises the flower, technically called the "Amorphophallus Gigas" from Sumatra, Indonesia. It blossomed for the first time in four years. (Source : Mainichi Daily News )
